21.9% of the Canadian population are immigrants. Often, they’re without family and feel lonely especially during the holidays. Many don’t speak English very well. And something as simple as hearing their mother tongue spoken by someone else can bring them comfort.

Hearing their mother tongue can make new immigrants feel less lonely.
Idea
Create specially designed cups featuring phrases from native languages of immigrants.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
Coffee cup designs
The phrases on the cups are all about togetherness and the holidays as expressed in various languages like Mandarin, Hindi, Filipino and Persian. Each cup was designed using traditional styles from the origin country with coffee bean as the principle elements.

Translations
These holiday cups are interactive using Google Translate. There will also be instructions on the cup for how to use Google Translate - simply point your mobile phone at the text and it will be translated.
